Course Objectives

This course has been designed to enable attendees to gain a full understanding of the general principles of the requirements of the Standard, including fundamental clauses and statements of intent. Attendees will also learn how certificated audits against the Standard operate including closing the audit, corrective actions and certificate issue.


A good technical knowledge of the industry is essential. Attendees should have read and reviewed a copy of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 7 prior to attending the course.

For those wishing to be registered BRC auditors and who have the other necessary qualifications and experience such as an IRCA Lead Assessor qualification, but not the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 7 Understanding the Requirements, successful completion of this course will be necessary as part of their basic requirement.

Note: This course may also be useful for providing existing food safety auditors with an awareness of the unique requirements of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 7. Attendees that successfully pass the end of course examination will receive a BRC Attendance Certificate.
